Texas Renaisance Festival

Meryt and I will be attending this Saturday if anyone wants to get together and talk about the good old days or the future. I don't know if you guys are into that sort of thing elves, armor, chivalry and what not.... hehe

OH I'm so jealous. I fly every year to MN to attend the Renaissance festival there, but I missed it this year

The state and city where we live also hosts a Renaissance Festival (although on a much smaller, more intimate scale than the likes of the one in Texas, so I hear). It'd be awesome to attend with a group. I'll even don my elf ears for that.

We have one as well. But I do need to get to the holy grail of ren fests...MN. Even our local boys have pulled up stakes and made MN their homebase now. The Tortuga Twins.

I know its rather early but if anyone plans to go this year let me know.

I worked at the Texas Ren Fair once long ago- fall of 96 or maybe 97 I believe. Did a show called "Shakespeare's Shorts" written by the famous Dead Bob. (It was a version of Julius Cesaer- our actor playing Cesaer had died of the plague and we would recruit someone from the audience to play Cesaer- throw a toga on him- and then act around him) Of course, in between doing the show our acting troop roamed the park as vagabond actors doing street performances and generally being nuissances in attempts to make our lively hood. It was great fun.

Meryt and I are planning to attend TRF again the weekend after thanksgiving, probably that Friday and Saturday. We would like to attend the Festival in MN but have not yet begun to plan he logistics of the event.
